Touch is important. I believe it can be very helpful in two ways - one, to allow your dog to check in with you, but also in teaching your dog tricks and commands.
Start with something that stands out for your dog and that you can easily transfer to certain places and items - like your hand, a wall, or a door...etc
Grab your dog's motivator (treat or toy) and put it by your touch symbol.
Say the command "touch", and once your dog's nose reaches your touch item, then reward by giving motivator.
Make the game fun and rewarding, and stay patient!
