Leaders first!

Eva Leersnyder

As dog owners us humans should be the leaders of our pack. Our dogs shouldn't be ruling over us; instead, they should be looking up to us.

Creating rules and boundaries with your dog will help them gain more respect for you.

Thresholds for example, are a great way to practice leadership with your dogs.

Heading out the door for a walk is a perfect time to have your dog sit/stay while you open the door. They should maintain this position even while you step outside of the threshold.

When YOU are ready to invite your dog out, say your break word.

Practice this going in and out the front door, back door, and crate.
